Mitla

On Thursday we reserve cab # 855 again for the day to another ruin 40km south of Oaxaca in the city of Mitla. The ruins are different, having never been actually buried by time, they surround an ancient church whose building cannibalized the stone from the temples. We hire a guide for the hour and he is excellent. From there we go up into the mountains to the small mountain town of Benito Juarez. It is the most fantastic of days. Our driver, though we requested the fabulous Miguel, is the cab company's son, Jaime. He is also a kind, pleasant, patient young man of 30----we are out all day until 5pm. Photos and more narrative to follow.
